Why Martial Art Jiu Jitsu?

With violence more common in today’s society, the ability to defend oneself gives more confidence and peace of mind so we emphasize to teach self-defense techniques. Also it is an acceptable fact that martial arts will help in improving focus, confidence, memory, and goal setting. It helps in building respect for others and teach discipline in ones life.

Among several other martial arts why Jiu Jitsu?

Jiu-Jitsu, is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an armed or armoured opponent. Jiu-Jitsu was used by Samurais, an elite class in Japan, who were mainly the body guards of Kings of Japan.

"Jiu" can be translated to mean "gentle”
“Jitsu" can be translated to mean "art" or "technique"

Unlike most martial arts Jiu-Jitsu is roughly 95% defensive. This means that you are defending yourself which by law you are allowed to do. Jiu-Jitsu teaches you how to defend yourself against an attacker or attackers using the minimum amount of force.  Because of this, Jiu Jitsu meaning gentle art, is the most suitable self-defence technique for ladies as it doesn’t require much power to defeat an opponent. In Jiu jitsu size and strength of a learning person are secondary to skill, so a person belonging to any age group or body type can learn.

Jiu Jitsu focus on lock-downs skills rather than strength and it emphasize more on throwing, pinning, and joint-locking techniques. In Jiu-Jitsu opponent’s energy itself is used to defeat him
